Steve Sims is a vice president at New Republic Capital where he advises clients on wealth management and investment solutions.
Steve brings experience in wealth management with areas of expertise including portfolio construction, asset allocation, manager selection, cash management and guidance across all asset classes.
Prior to joining the firm, Steve served as an investment specialist at J.P. Morgan in Dallas and Charlotte, where he provided investment advice and solutions to wealthy families, institutions, foundations and endowments.
He was a private equity associate for The Stephens Group in Little Rock, Arkansas. At The Stephens Group, Steve focused on analyzing new and existing investment opportunities, preparing detailed financial models, assessing industry and market trends, conducting due diligence and assisting portfolio company management teams.
Steve began his career as an investment banking analyst at Harris Williams & Co. in Richmond, Virginia. He was part of the Energy, Power, & Infrastructure Group and worked on representing companies being sold in the industry.
He holds a B.A. in Economics from Princeton University and an MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, with a dual concentration in Investment and Corporate Finance. While at Princeton, Steve was a linebacker on the Varsity Football team. He published his thesis, along with Professor Rosen, “Altruistic Behavior and Habit Formation” in the Nonprofit Management and Leadership Journal.
Steve is a member of the Levine Children’s Hospital Dreamcatcher Society and the Professional Advisory Council of the Atrium Health Foundation.
