Ali Bayler is a managing director at New Republic Partners and the leader of the firm’s Mid-Atlantic office. She is a member of the firm’s investment committee. Ali serves families and institutions, leveraging the firm’s extensive resources for addressing investment strategies, governance, generational planning, philanthropy, and client service.
Ali formerly worked as a portfolio manager with Brown Advisory and as a managing director with OCIO Spider Management. She served in various roles with global law and boutique asset management firms earlier in her career.
Over the past 25 years she has gained valuable perspectives across various solutions and tools available to clients, and developed a deep commitment to helping clients pursue approaches aligned with their needs.
Ali understands the important characteristics of different types of alternative and traditional investments, and how those investment opportunities can best be used to address the needs of specific client scenarios. Her expertise in this area enables her to create customized solutions for institutions as well as family members across generations.
As a Virginia native with ties across the Commonwealth and Washington, DC, Ali is actively involved in numerous community organizations. She currently serves on the boards and/or investment committees of The Jenkins Foundation, The Nature Conservancy of Virginia, Mutual Assurance Society of Virginia and Norfolk Academy. She is past chair of CARITAS, participated in Leadership Metro Richmond and co-founded Virginia Women in Finance.
Ali holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Virginia, and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University. She is certified as a Chartered Alternatives Investment Analyst (CAIA).
