John P. Alar
Vice President
John Alar is a vice president at New Republic Partners where he participates in portfolio construction and asset allocation for the firm’s clients, with a primary focus on the firm’s private equity and private credit platforms.
John was formerly an investor at East Rock Capital, a multi-family office, where he focused on private equity opportunities. Prior to that role, he served as a private equity associate for Ridgemont Equity Partners where he was responsible for deal origination and execution, investment decisions and portfolio management. John began his career in investment banking at Wells Fargo Securities.
He graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor’s degree in economics and business with a minor in computer science from Rhodes College.
John is a volunteer in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system. He also serves as a pro-bono consultant to small businesses through Pacific Community Ventures.
