David S. Routh
David Routh is a senior advisor to New Republic Partners, with a focus on strategic initiatives for successful individuals and families, endowments and foundations.
David has held a variety of roles in institutional and high-net-worth investment management firms over the last 25 years in North Carolina and New York. In 1996, he joined North Carolina Trust company in its Greensboro office. During his years there he served both institutional and high-net-worth clients in North Carolina.
After North Carolina Trust was acquired by U.S. Trust of New York, David led national institutional relationship management teams serving endowment and foundation clients, as well as the Charitable Services Group in New York which served large colleges, universities and community foundation clients.
Later at U.S. Trust/Bank of America, Routh led the high-net-worth/ultra-high-net-worth team in Raleigh serving individual, family office and not-for-profit clients in North Carolina and the Southeast region. In 2013, Routh joined the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Earlier in his career, Routh spent eleven years as the president and CEO of Potpourri Design, a Greensboro design and distribution company. Before that he served as a commercial banker at NCNB.
In addition to his professional duties, Routh has always been active in not-for-profit board leadership, chairing the boards of the Greensboro Symphony and Family Service of the Piedmont, as well as serving as vice chair of the Lineberger Cancer Center board of visitors, and as a board member of the UNC Press and the Wildacres Leadership Initiative.
